PTA Huby CoE School Parent Teachers Association (PTA)
Welcome to the Huby School PTA.
The PTA plays a vital role in supporting the school by raising money. This money is then used to enrich the pupils learning experience by providing things such as buses for field trips, hiring a Planetarium and climbing wall, and providing fruit to all the children every day. The PTA also is responsible for organizing and running the summer Carnival, Bonfire and Santa nights with your help. All this is done to allow school to spend its money on primary teaching functions without them having to worry about using funds for the above type of items.
If you have a child at Huby School you are automatically a member of the PTA and we CANNOT function without the help and assistance that members provide. It doesn’t have to be a lot, just making cakes or helping out on a stall at the Carnival, every bit helps and it’s vital to the success of the PTA. We hold meetings about 4-5 times per year where we plan for events and approve funding for various school requests; it’s all very low key and relaxed.
I joined the PTA 18 months ago and took over the role of Chairman in September 2014 after a very successful 4 years under the leadership of Helen Amoako. I must say it’s something I really enjoy and I have met many new people even though I have lived in Huby since 1973!
I’m looking forward to 2015 in the PTA and please feel free to contact me if you have any ideas, feedback on events or can spare time to help out.
